Get rid of overthinking, attract better opportunities at work, and earn more money with these affirmations.

I didn’t believe in affirmations until last year.

To me, they sounded like fancy pish-posh made up by the self-improvement gurus to trick an entire generation of youngsters into spending money on something that doesn’t work.

But then, my friend Dipanshu Rawal pushed me to read Rhonda Bryne’s The Magic — a book that changed my perspective. It introduced me to the Law of Attraction and the transformative power of positive manifestation.

Since then, life has taken such a positive turn.

I’ve been able to attract amazing opportunities — the likes of which I’d been afraid to even dream of. I switched careers, made more than 10x the income of my day job just by writing, and networked with some truly inspiring people who I’m sure will open up further opportunities.

I understood that affirmations are a powerful way of attracting the life you want. And the best part? They take about ten minutes each day and show results within a few weeks.

As this post on Healthline puts it, “Your brain sometimes gets a little mixed up on the difference between reality and imagination, which can be surprisingly useful. Creating a mental image of yourself doing something activates many of the same brain areas that actually experiencing these situations would.”

This article lists three affirmations that will work wonders for you when you start doubting yourself. One is to help you overcome indecision and stop overthinking, another is for boosting confidence at work, and the third is for attracting more wealth.

Even if you’ve never practiced affirmations, I urge you to give these a try. After a month of daily practice, I’m sure your life will change and you can welcome the abundance of the Universe into your heart.

1. An affirmation for when you overthink about whether you made the right decision

I consider myself a “careful” person.

My desire to protect myself from future harm often manifests itself in the form of overthinking.

I’ve lain in bed for hours, unable to sleep, agonizing about which step to take and what option to choose. I’ve minutely analyzed every aspect of each available option, never able to reach a decisive conclusion.

And once the decision is made, I cry and fret over it, wondering what if I took the wrong step. I find it hard to move ahead because I constantly keep looking back and wondering if the other option was better.

If you’re familiar with this feeling, then you, my friend, could be an overthinker too.

As David A. Clark Ph.D. puts it, “overthinking occurs as an irresistible urge to analyze practically everything you think, but especially the unwanted, spontaneous thoughts that just pop into your mind.”

Those of us who struggle with it know overthinking can be a curse. It fills us with discontent and self-doubt when we could have filled our hearts with gratitude.

Since the past few weeks, I’ve found an affirmation that has given me immense mental peace. Every time I feel uncertain what to do and start wondering if I ruined my life by taking the wrong step, I repeat this to myself:

“The right time is when I choose to do it.
The right decision is the one I take.”

With time, I’ve learned that there’s no right or wrong decision, and I won’t be punished for choosing something. The constant fear is just my ego operating from a scarcity mindset.

In truth, life is full of infinite possibilities. What we see today aren’t the only options available to us. And even if our choice turns out to be wrong, we have the power to make it right again.

Ultimately, no person or situation can decide how your life unfolds.

The only one who can make that choice is you.

So, the next time you have to pick one option among many, pick whichever you want, and pick it with joy, gratitude, and an open mind.

“I don’t believe in taking right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right.” — Ratan Tata

2. An affirmation for when you feel unconfident or undervalued in your job

The words you say to yourself constantly mold your personality and how others perceive you. If you think you’re worthless and deserve nothing good, others will think the same.

But that’s not true. You’re a creation of the Universe and you’re capable of amazing miracles. You are an asset. You always have been one. You just need to open your eyes and look at yourself the way you want everyone to see you.

The next time you feel underconfident or undervalued in your job, repeat this to yourself until you believe it:

“I’m an asset to everyone and everything I’m involved with.”

If you practice this every single day for at least a month, you’ll start attracting people and experiences into your life that prove this to you.

Yes, you might have a “permanent” job and a mean boss you’re stuck with forever. But affirmations are powerful and manifestations can change everything that doesn’t make you feel alive.

As professional intuitive Tanya Carroll Richardson puts it, “Opportunities, people, and resources can show up out of the blue, so be open to them.” Things may not play out how you imagined (in fact, they probably won’t) and that’s okay.

This affirmation will boost your confidence and make you open to receiving better and more fulfilling opportunities and experiences in your life.

3. An affirmation for when you feel you’re not going to earn enough money

In 2020, I had a lot of money blocks without even realizing them.

I thought I needed to work exceptionally hard to earn more, and that with my current level of skill, I was only capable of earning as much as I currently was.

This translated into my income, of course, and I was unable to upscale no matter how hard I tried.

Then, I started practicing an affirmation that has opened up several roads for me. Saying this out loud daily helped me clear the mental blocks and convince me that I could attract wealth by being exactly who I am.

“I can be rich just by being myself and doing what I love.”

I know it might seem overwhelming, but you need to believe you can be rich first before you can actually become rich.

If speaking this out loud sounds difficult, write it on a sticky note and keep it in a place where you can see this every day. Keep re-affirming this in your mind for at least a month and welcome the magic (and the wealth) into your life.

Closing thoughts: a tip to practice at the end of every manifestation

Affirmations are powerful, and with the right mindset, you can manifest everything you ever asked for.

Here’s a small line you can practice at the end of every manifestation:

“….through the best possible channel.”

Humans are social creatures, and often, what happens to us affects the people and things around us. By telling the Universe you want what’s good for you through the best possible channel, you’re effectively telling her to send you what you want for the highest good of everyone and everything involved.

This way, you’re welcoming abundance not just in your life, but in the lives of everyone connected to you.

After all, what good is happiness if it hurts you in another way or harms someone else, right? By doing this, you’ll be getting your “happy ending” in the most blissful way there is.

Have you tried affirmations before? Are you going to try any of these three?
