the day you left,
only an emptiness;
the knowledge that something
that was a part of me
is no longer there.

An emptiness
that filled me up from within,
and made its presence felt
every waking moment of the day.

Yet if you asked me
if meeting you was worth all of it
I’d not even think twice, baby,
